Capital markets strategy diagnosis

Purpose

Identify and quantify the gap between a company's current market value and its achievable fair value; diagnose the root causes of that gap across strategy, information, and investor base; translate the diagnosis into a prioritized set of value-unlock levers with concrete next steps for humans to execute.

This skill directs the use of a valuation model rather than being one itself, and produces a recommendation set for people to act on, not investor-facing material. Turning that recommendation set into investor-facing content is an output template's job, not this skill's.

Core framework: value creation potential = the size of the gap between a company's current market value and its intrinsic/achievable fair value, plus the extent to which strategy, information, and investor base are (or aren't) structured to close that gap.

Output package

Deliverable Audience Content
Value-opportunity analysis Client company Peer set(s) and rationale, multi-method valuation triangulation, ruled-in/ruled-out causes
Pillar diagnostic Client company Right Strategy / Right Info / Right Investor, element by element, Strong/Gap with severity and paired action per Gap
Competitive-advantage assessment Client company Nine-driver screen, survivors with metric and durability horizon
Prioritized lever list Client company Each lever with mechanism, quantified (or tagged) impact, and the specific next step for the company's management/board
Adviser action list Capient adviser (internal only) Data needed (with suggested source and severity), judgment calls to confirm, and alignment/preparatory actions needed with the client before finalizing or presenting
Self-check report Capient adviser Pass/fail against the quality rubric

The client-facing deliverables render into one Value Creation Potential Assessment document; the adviser action list and self-check render into a separate internal document. The adviser action list is never client-facing: it never appears inside any client deliverable, and a downstream skill receives the client-facing output package, not the adviser's own task list.
